Arkan Death — pendant made of oxidized silver with gilding

This pendant from the Arcana collection, which is based on the Reaper Tarot card, is a piece full of symbolism.

The Reaper shows the end of a cycle, the transformation and liberation from all that is superfluous in the life of each person. The scythe in the Reaper’s hands represents time and the cyclical nature of all things. «Death» is not an evil card; it symbolizes the eternal movement that leads to the creation of something even better than what came before it. This card tells us that the time has come for important changes in our lives. 

The «Death» card also reminded us of mythical creatures from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. We instantly thought of the Nazgul, the Black Riders, who were created by the magical power of the Ring. Doomed to protect the Ring with their lives, they could enchant almost anyone with their magic, and only the bravest could face them in combat.

The silver of the pendant has been oxidised to make the lines as sharp as possible. You can see every fold of the dark cloak, the billowing depths of the sleeves. The pendant looks alive — if you look carefully, it almost seems like you can catch a glimpse of movement in the Reaper’s hands. The Reaper also wears a golden crown on his head, as he is the master of all things. All changes in the world must first pass through him.
