The Bloom of Time — a moment encoded in jewellery
People have always thought about the passage of time. And the most desperate have tried to tame it. But isn't the phenomenon of this struggle that it is not worth resisting, but rather accepting and going with the flow?
Every year, when spring comes, the Japanese meet in parks to contemplate the fragile, delicate flowers of the trees. These are moments of unity with nature and a symbol of our existence. Like flowers, human life is beautiful but fleeting. Contemplating the blooms reminds us of the importance of every moment.
We are so fascinated by the philosophy of Japan that we decided to recreate its most intimate tradition in jewellery. To capture time in jewellery art and admire it while contemplating the flow of life.
The Mokume Gane technique originates from Japan and actually means ‘wood made of metal’. In this technique, time is fleeting, instantaneous and eternal at the same time. It is a special philosophy in which every moment is important and unique. And we are just observers of the irreversible processes of life.
