Hamsa — pendant made of white gold and with a sapphire, covered with black rhodium
The hamsa is a protective symbol that represents an open palm. Translated from Arabic, «hamsa» means «five», or the five fingers of the hand.
Since time immemorial, an open hand has symbolized honesty and openness of the soul. We are always happy to greet friends with a handshake, offering either a sincere squeeze or a simple moment of palm-to-palm contact. An open hand is a gesture of submission and trust.
The symbol of the open palm existed even before the emergence of religions and states. Nowadays, it is in use everywhere, including in Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. Even the ancient Phoenicians attributed the hamsa to the «Hand of Tanit», the moon goddess and protector of Carthage. Christians believe that the hamsa is the palm of God, which comes down from heaven to protect all of humanity in times of great need.
In any case, the hamsa is a powerful amulet that concentrates natural energy and protects its wearer. It is used as a talisman against witchery as well as a source of energy. Legend has it that blue gems significantly increase its protective and magical properties.
We adhered to these legends and placed a wondrous natural sapphire in the open palm of our «Hamsa». We decorated the gold pendant with an original pattern so that the wearer may enjoy the pleasure of a remarkable aesthetic. «Hamsa» will bring you a sense of calm as well as firm protection from the evil eye.
