Kochut: more than 7 years of development of jewelry art

Our path to jewelry manufacture began with one dream — to devote our lives to our beloved business, which brings us pleasure, and to others — positive emotions and unforgettable memories. It was a difficult and long journey, but over time we were able to go through it.

We believe that we have achieved success not only thanks to the professionalism because there are many excellent craftsmen in the world, who still remain in the shadows. We owe this breakthrough to our beloved parents. They raised in us: the love to work, responsibility for our actions, a belief that under any circumstances, you need to stay human. All of these factors are the key to personal growth and overall success.

How it all started?

Our jewelry journey started from high school. That was the first time when we tried to create something that you could call "jewelry". It was made  more for fun, rather than something serious. Professionally, we have begun crafting jewelry pieces in our university years. We all three have started at the Faculty of Engineering. It wasn't a special faculty that taught students of jewelry making, but we have learned there the technology of metal processing, including chemical and mechanical.

However, we need to note that we weren't doing it together from the beginning. Roman was the first who was passionate enough to make the first rings for sale. Over time, Yuri's interest in jewelry also aroused, so Roman offered to be his assistant. In some weeks, Igor also decided to join. We have united and started working together in our father's mini-workshop. Social media platforms became our first marketplaces, which was a great idea as other competitors didn't even think that it's possible to sell jewelry on social media platforms. For a year we have sold our products under the name «Koh-i-Noor», which is one of the largest diamonds in the world (it also means «mountain of light»). But after a year (in 2014), we did a rebranding and called our small company — Kochut. It was our father's recommendation to name the company after our last name.

Our own workshop and the first team 

Time passed; we grew every day with every new jewelry piece. In 2015 Kochut has grown to the point where three people are no longer able to cover the full range of jewelry responsibilities. We needed a team of professionals who shared our views and values. In fact, we wanted to see people, who could also put their soul into each product and work with maximum efficiency. 

Each piece of jewelry is made by us from the very beginning to the end. This approach allows us to control the manufacturing process and maintain high-quality products. Design, casting, creating jewelry, processing with decorative coatings, and fixing gems — are done in one workshop.

Some jewelry pieces are created entirely by hand (for example, rings in the Mokume Gane technique), which allows us to create exclusive and unique works. After all, some products cannot be repeated in an exact copy.

We also use wax modeling, 3D modeling, after which a virtual sample is cut out of wax on a milling machine. The workshop is our second home in which we not only work but also relax and gain inspiration.
