Description

«No matter how tall the skyscrapers are, you cannot compare them to the power and majesty of the mountains.»

I was balancing between two radically different planes. The whole working week I walked on the ground and dreamed of how soon I would be sliding across the sky.

The mountains. They were a part of me even before I was born, laid out on a genetic track as the final stop of my heart. Don’t ask someone why they love the mountains, because the answer is clear — their soul soars between the two worlds.

The cliffs preserve my footsteps. They don’t care who I am or what I have or haven’t achieved. When I meet with them, I feel completely accepted, totally free. Where is my home? Down there, where discoloured water flows from the tap? Or here, where mighty waterfalls roar and foam?

How radically different we are in these worlds. In one we still have so much to prove, and in the other we don’t need anything at all. I don’t know how worrying this thought is, but the other world lives just as well without us. Spring and winter also come to it. It blossoms and grows. It is silent, inhaling the purest air under the most breathtaking stars.

Yet, the two can never meet. If one were to absorb the other, their story would be deprived of its most beautiful stills, as well as what are likely the only genuine feelings that exist. We split this world in two as we built it, and now we carry the pieces in our thirsty hearts, forever seeking harmony. Like birds, we are reduced to rushing back and forth between them.

In the incredibly detailed «Two Worlds» ring, an epic story as long as eternity has been preserved in silver.

This work was designed by the winner of the «Best Sketch» competition, which we organized in the spring of 2020.
